Rooting Samsung Galaxy A50

hi everyone,

this post as it title above we will talking about root Samsung galaxy a50. little info about the Samsung galaxy a50 is that phone runs android pie (9.0) system and had 4/6 ram and 64/128gb of storage.

quite good for mid-end phone run for multi-tasking and some heavy game.

about root; why you guys want to root your phone? I personally root it for had access that the android nor Samsung will give it to me. the reason Samsung or google doing so is for our safety in the privacy and security risk of our personal information stored on that phone. but its just half true, because the truth is the owner of the phone brand and google itself know our digital privacy much more then we realize. it's just a matter of time when someone break into their server or the government forces them to give all the info we truly want to hide.

but you guys had to understand it too, that root your phone will give you access for everything that you like to install in your phone. therefore there is a huge chance that some app contains viruses or malware can go easily into your phone. not only that, you also broke the Samsung warranty when you rooting you phone, bricking your device, and maybe go into some error. you also wouldn't automatically receive any new update from your android.

so... if you are aware of all the risk and what will you gain when you rooting your phone lets do it.

follow the step is very crucial when you want to success on rooting your device and avoid any kind of brick.

first, you need to prepare all the material you need to rooting your phone.
1. download and install Odin to your pc (you can get Odin from here )
2. install or update your phone usb driver to the latest version
3. download TWRP ( can get it here also the install guide from here can help)
4. download disabler from here and store it into your external memory  card or flashdisk
5. download magisk from here and store it into your external memory card or flashdisk
6. prepared your USB cable (use the original is recommended), external memory or flash disk with OTG

if every material is complete then lets start

the first step is to setting you phone to unlock OEM and enable USB debugging
1. go to setting,
2. scroll down to about phone
3. find build number and click it 7 times to enable developer option.
4. after that back to setting scroll to the bottom and enter developer mode
5. enable OEM unlock and USB debugging from there.

if everything is done, now turn the phone off.

1.  you need to boot your device to download mode and unlock the bootloader
> turn off your phone (make sure USB cable are not connected to your device
>press and hold volume up+down at the same time for 5 seconds and connect your usb cable to your device and the pc
> you will see the download mode will automatic on in the phone
> now press and hold volume up till the phone vibrate (this means you already unlock the bootloader)
> now turn your phone up (you will see the warning things shows on the logo, its fine just follow the instruction to boot up) and make sure you are connected to the internet (wifi preferred) and don't add any google account. just skip all the new phone things.
>now back to combo for your phone download mode.
> and then pres once volume up to enable download
> start odin on your pc.
> now inside the odin window click on AP field and look for the TWRP file you already download and add that file. (TWRP_3.3.1_A50_A505_ASK9_MAGISK_PATCHED, you should use this one)
> before you start the flashing process, make sure in the Odin option you already uncheck the auto-reboot
> start the process, until you see the process succeeds and finishes.
> now press and hold power and volume down button for some times until the phone restart,
>when you see the galaxy a50 logo quickly press and hold power + volume up button till the screen showing twrp on your screen.
> slide to enable modification on twrp
> go to Wipe and the format data (insert "yes" to wipe all the the data)
> back and go to install and look for the disabler you already download (in twrp swipe is to confirm your action)
> after disabler already being installed back to install section and look for magisk you already download and then install it.
> after done install magisk, back to TWRP main page and go to reboot section and choose recovery.

now your phone will boot into recovery mode with root access. you should download magisk manager and install it first before anything. and then open it, and let the magisk manager set the rest for you (you phone will reboot once).
as from now, you can switch to use root or no by switching the boot mode through twrp. if you want to access root use boot recovery but if you want to access without root you can choose boot system.

PS:
as for February, 23 - 2020 the root is still causing a problem (the phone keeps restarting in recovery boot) but this just happens when you turn off your phone or the battery runs off. if you got the problem go to twrp and boot into the system (or you can retry to flash from Odin again). some known bug in system boot is auto-rotate is not function.
I am still waiting for the expert from XDA forum to solve this.

as long you can get access to TWRP, no need to panic when your phone go into force restart.
and FYI, rooting the new galaxy phone release on 2019 and later is very hard. lot of effort and risk are put in the line here. its not just like before you can go easy and using kingroot or any simple apk. because samsung now, not just only KNOX secure it, but also some new security things are adding up. mostly try rooting is to put your device in useless mode (brick). but as I say before. freedom come with great cost and risk.

ok guys, there is the way and there is the risk... take it or leave it...!!! cheers.
